This year proved to be a special year not only for the winner of the 2009 Abel Prize but also for Smartcom:tv. In honour of the prestigious event, The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters commissioned a 30 minute interview with this year’s winner Russian-French mathematician Mikhail Leonidovich Gromov which was aired on Norwegian national TV, NRK.
Filmed in Gunnar Bjørkavåg’s office, Head of NHST Media Group, the interview represented a milestone for Smartcom:tv as it was the first time we produced a program for national TV.
In addition to the interview, we covered the announcement and award ceremony, and produced a 3 minute news feature available via Web TV.
Mikhail Gromov was awarded the 2009 Abel Prize for his outstanding contribution to the field of mathematics. The award was presented by His Majesty King Harald at an award ceremony that took place in Oslo on May 19th.
